If you didn't read my email from 2 days ago it is at the bottom of this one.

Help for Orphans International has a volunteer named Jonathan on the ground in Haiti right now. He is a pilot, personally using his own plane. I hear directly from Jonathan everyday.

He said there is a BIG need for morphine here in the hospitals (or at least oral narcotics). They are doing amputations without it. That might be the single most important item to distribute now. Apparently there are quantities in Port Au Prince but the army has taken over and distribution is very slow. Pass the word.

As I mentioned before, Jonathan has this knowledge because he has the only small aircraft on the ground in Haiti right now, which is shuttling in supplies and help. Due to his tireless efforts he has been able to bring medical personnel, supplies, food, water and medication directly to the people who need it most. It is because of the money we raise that enables him to continue to pay for fuel and supplies.

I want you to think about this for a minute. Can you imagine if your child, your brother, or your grandchild was in severe pain for days on end, with no medical care? Can you imagine your child losing ALL the family they have ever known and left to fend for themselves on the streets, surrounded by decomposing bodies? This is the situation for so many in Haiti.

These children need our help. I realize I may be sounding very dramatic here but this is the honest truth. I need every one of you to understand and pass on how severely help is needed there. Most of us, if not all, take for granted the food and water we have at our disposal. So many lives are being lost in Haiti – today - because they are lacking the simple essentials.

So, please, give whatever you can. A few dollars from everyone reading this will make a huge difference. Give up the Starbucks for just one week.

Text "support orphans" to 20222 to give $5 on your cell bill.

To make a larger contribution go to www.helpfororphans.org and click “Donate now" and most of all PLEASE spread the word to EVERYONE you know!

See our Press release released early this morning: http://www.prweb.com/releases/2010/01/prweb3505184.htm

Thank you again from the bottom of my heart!!

Love,

Josie Dobin
917.704.2131 mobile
Help for Orphans International
YouTube Video

"A one-time donation of $5 will be added to your mobile phone bill or deducted from your prepaid balance. She has done a lot of work helping orphans in Kenya and is now solely focused on helping the orphans affected by the earthquake in Haiti.

I don't like to spread bad news but we have a volunteer from our organization who's been on the ground there since over a week ago. Words cannot describe the devastation that he has described to me. Imagine a little child losing ALL their family, wounded, no place to live and with little food/water. This is TRULY the situation.

Sarah and myself are going to Haiti in the next few days to raise awareness and to strategize HOW we are most effectively going to help. We will also be purchasing food/formula/diapers in the Dominican Republic to bring to the most hard hit areas.

Our volunteer there named Jonathan flew his 4 seater aircraft 2000 miles from Sag Harbor, NY and is shuttling back and forth between neighboring areas bringing supplies and medical personnel to the most desperate areas. Today he texted me that he was enroute to bring saws and morphine to a medical unit there.

The only way we can keep him doing this is to continue to send him funds.

Do NOT think that they have ENOUGH help because they don't. What we are doing IS making a difference! Jonathan says that he has the only small aircraft shuttling that he has seen. Additionally, because his aircraft is so small he has been cleared to land at Port au Prince airport.

We can NOT continue to do what we're doing without more donations! There's just NO way! Sadly, the surrounding areas have taken advantage of this tragedy and the cost of fuel and food etc.. has skyrocketed! All your donations are 100% tax deductible and you can know that we are actually USING your money RIGHT NOW to make a difference! Anything helps!

Here's how to donate:

1. Click this now Help For Orphans, then select "donate now" on the top left navigation.

2. Text 20222 from you cell phone and type "support orphans" and you will be charged $5 on your next cell phone bill.

3. Call me at 917.704.2131.

More about us:

Help For Orphans

Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I just finished reading the power points for Wednesday's webinar with my friend the ex-fund manager.

And, I've got to say, that in all my years in the trading business, this is the most content rich webinar I have ever seen. No hype, only hard core trading truths that not everyone is going to like.

Things like the fact that he and his hedge fund buddies used to hunt stops. Now he's teaching "civilians" how to make money off those hedge hunters.

If you are new to trading, this hour could save you thousands of dollars over the school of hard knocks.

Those who don't get information like this risk having their whole investment account being wiped out, before they've really had a chance to trade.

Don't miss out - Click here to register for this Free ETF and Money Management Seminar.

Exchange Traded Index Funds

For trading veterans I can guarantee you that the advanced position sizing tip is a golden nugget you'll use for increasing profits and decreasing risks in the years to come. This one tip could double your profits regardless of what your entry system is. The one tip alone can turn any average system into a winning system.

We'll cover:

- How to maximize your winners.

- Why most traders have it backwards when it comes to risk.

- How to eliminate 95% of trading stress and emotion.

- Why most traders have it backwards when it comes to winning percentages.

- Even how to become a professional money manager and raise millions, if you so desire.

That last one really surprised me. Because I know that if you really want to make millions in trading the fastest way is to use leverage with other peoples' money, when you are ready.

There are so many reasons to attend this F.R.E.E webinar Wednesday at 9pm EST. I honestly believe you're missing the boat if you don't take advantage of this opportunity. It won't be a waste of your time! I love sharing high quality content with my subscribers and this is going to be one of the best.

Our host has worked trades as large as $50 million during his money management career. He will share a little of his story, but most of the hour will be spent teaching you how to improve your trading.

See you then,

Exchange Traded Funds

Cheers,

Ave Ramel

P.S. That's right, $50 million advice, f.r.e.e, and a chance to win a free 1 year mentorship with a professional trader just by showing up.

*** Pay attention while our guest explains how you can make more profits with less risk trading the markets.

A Scientific Breakthrough

Hi,

At last, have finished the First VitaPlus Tour that will answer

a lot of your questions about this scientific breakthrough in

Health, Wellness, and Beauty.

You may now proceed to: First VitaPlus

The First VitaPlus Tour answers the ff:

- Five Power Vegetables

- Five Little Things You Should Know About First VitaPlus

- Prevention and Maintenance of Diseases

- Availability and Product Sizes

Cheers,

Ave Ramel

***Trust in the Lord with all your heart***

How The Rich are Debt-Free

Hi,

===========================================

Crisis ???

The Rich are debt-free and do really have

a lot of options in life.

If you want to be rich, you must know

- what kind of income to work hard for,

- how to keep it, and

- how to protect it from loss.

That is the key to great wealth.

Discover this kind of income in:

Of course, some people don't feel they must have a reason for selecting this type of baby product over the more standard product. It may even be related to television advertising or name recognition for a particular brand. The reasons for selecting organic baby products as opposed to traditional products will vary according to the philosophy and lifestyle of the parents, but the reasons usually fall into one or more of the following categories.

Promote the marketplace

Because modern day organic baby products are a developing market that not everyone is aware of, and because internet businesses are the most popular location for start up businesses. it only makes sense to promote the marketing of such an earth friendly product. When producers of organic baby products realize that there are parents anxious to buy such items, they are more likely to produce even more organic products to choose from. It only makes sense to assume that producers want to see the probability of positive results before expanding into a niche market too quickly. By voting with your purchases you can show the producers you understand and appreciate what they are trying to do.

Healthier children

Using organic baby products means that you have the opportunity to prevent your baby from being exposed to harmful products such as allergens, carcinogens and other irritants. Some of the dangerous products in our daily lives are only just now coming to light, and more of these are likely to show up as more research is done. Using organic baby products won't eliminate all the difficulties and dangerous products in your baby's life, but at least it may prevent a few problems from a health standpoint in your child's life.

Healthier planet

When you choose organic baby products, you help to promote a healthier planet Earth. Organic baby products reduce dependence upon chemical and dangerous pesticides; eliminate the use of chemicals in dyes and coloring agents and stop the use of possible carcinogenic substances in detergents and wetting agents. Getting to a healthier planet can also be a life style for new parents, or just a consideration about the health of your own child. Either way, reducing harmful ingredients in the water, air and soil of this planet can only result in a healthier planet Earth.

Small business support

The purchase of organic baby products as opposed to more traditional products sends a message to small business owners that there is a way to succeed by buying into the concept that organic products are marketable. They can find a much more global customer base by identifying the movement to organic baby products and providing a greater inventory. If you individually and personally believe in an organic lifestyle, show your support by buying organic products whenever possible. When small businesses providing organic products have their business philosophy rewarded by increased sales, it is likely that such businesses will expand and become more viable.

By Molly Ridenhour

Eating More Organic Without Busting The Budget

So you're convinced of the benefits of eating organic, but the price tag has got you down. The good news is that with a little creativity and perhaps a change in routine, it is possible to eat a mostly organic diet within the confines of your existing grocery budget. Try some of these ideas that have worked for my family.

Farmer's Markets

Search your newspaper or online for farmer's markets in your area. Many times these small farmers utilize organic practices, but you can always ask if in doubt. You can also find "you pick" farms locally if you search. These often have great prices since you have to do the work! Going berry picking is fun as well as educational. Bring the kids and make a day of it.

Buy In Bulk

Larger health grocery stores often have a nice variety of bulk items. Some have bulk bins that allow you to bring your own containers for your grains, soap, maple syrup, and many other products. These can offer huge savings, especially on certain items like spices and herbs. While it may seem odd to buy a 15 pound bag of organic brown rice, if you eat it frequently and have a little space in your freezer, bulk is a smart idea. Bring a calculator and see how much the cost is per serving. You might be pleasantly surprised. Large wholesale chains are also now offering some organic choices.

Skip Boxed and Prepared Foods

Grocery stores typically have a fairly large selection of boxed, convenience foods in the organic section. But you pay a premium for these products. The same goes for precut and washed veggies and fruit.

Spend More Time in the Kitchen

A homemade stew made from organic ingredients will still cost less than non-organic frozen lasagne. It will also be much healthier, without preservatives and other additives. If you have a bread machine gathering dust somewhere, put it to use and make a couple of loaves a week with organic flour. You'll likely still save money over premade bread from the store. This would be a great task to assign one of your kids.

Know What's Important to Buy Organic

There are certain foods that are more likely to contain pesticide residues. For instance, fatty items like dairy products, butter, and meats. If you're on a tight budget, it would be better to buy these items organic than organic produce. Why? Because hormones and pesticide residues will collect in the fatty tissues of animals. You can't really wash a stick of butter!

Focus on Veggies

If you eat more whole grains, vegetables and beans and use meat as a topping or seasoning agent, you'll naturally spend much less. Many families find that they can afford to eat mostly organic when they eat less animal protein. Try making vegetarian, bean based dinners at least 3 nights a week.

CSAs and Co-Ops

Do a Google search to find a local community sustained agriculture (CSA) that allows you to trade a little work (or a little money) for fresh organic homegrown goods.

You can also join a co-op to buy just about anything from boxed organic food, vitamins and personal care items. Or just get together with a friend to pool your resources and buy from companies that offer a wholesale program. Search online for co-ops for everything from organic skin care to vitamins to raw milk.

Grow Your Own

If growing your own garden seems overwhelming, just start with one tomato plant or a small windowbox herb garden. Enlist the help of your kids and make it into an educational experience. Or find a neighbor who you can start a small garden with and share the work.

Go Online for Organics

Believe it or not, you can save money by buying organic food online. Some retailers offer free shipping with a small minimum purchase, others offer great prices on bulk items. You can also find coupon codes for some of the retailers. The time and gas savings can also make it very worthwhile.

By Carrie Lauth

Top Ten Worst Foods Of 2009

From an astonishing amount of calories to several days' worth of fat in one meal to over the top levels of sodium, this is one place you don't want to see any of your favorite foods. Every year, the Center for Science in the Public Interest (CSPI) comes up with its list of the Top Ten Worst Foods and I always look forward to it. Once in awhile I find out I’ve enjoyed one of the "worsts" (and stop immediately!). But this year, I'm happy to report I have not indulged in anything on CSPI's list for 2009.

1. Pepperidge Farm Roasted White Meat Chicken Premium Pot Pie - There are 510 calories and 9 grams of saturated fat in this baby. Oh wait - that's just for half a pie. The whole thing has 1020 calories and 18 grams of saturated fat.

2. Romano's Macaroni Grill Spaghetti and Meatballs with Meat Sauce - This dish will set you back a staggering 2,430 calories and nearly three days' worth of saturated fat (57 grams) plus 5,290 milligrams of sodium - more calories and saturated fat than two Macaroni Grill Tuscan Rib-Eye steak dinners.

3. Progresso Traditional, Vegetable Classics, and Rich & Hearty soups - Half a can averages more than half of a person's daily quota of salt. Instead, CSPI says try Progresso's Health Favorites reduced-sodium soups with up to 50 percent less salt. Also, see: Hidden sodium in foods you wouldn't think to check.

4. Dove Ice Cream - A half cup has about 300 calories and an average of 11 grams of saturated fat - that's half-a-day's worth of the bad stuff. You may be better off with these 5 frozen treats under 100 calories.

5. The Cheesecake Factory Chris' Outrageous Chocolate Cake - It's layers of chocolate cake, brownie, toasted coconut pecan filling, and chocolate chip coconut cheesecake. CSPI found each five-inch-high slice weighs three-fourths of a pound and has 1,380 calories, 32 teaspoons of sugar, 33 grams of saturated fat and 5 grams of trans fat. Yikes!

6. Smoothie King's Grape Expectations II - It's one of Smoothie King's "Snack Rights" with 550 calories in the 20-ounce size and 1,100 calories in the 40-ouncer. Proof that not all smoothies are good for you (but these are).

7. Pop Secret Movie Theater Butter Popcorn Snack Size Bags - Just one snack-size bag has 11 grams of bad fat, 7 of which are trans fats. Instead, CSPI says choose Orville Redenbacher's Smart Pop or Smart Balance Smart 'N Healthy - both are made with no partially hydrogenated oils. Also, see this review of microwave pop corns from Consumer Reports.

8. The Starbucks Venti (20 oz.) Caffe Mocha with whole milk and whipped cream has 450 calories and 13 grams of bad fat - more like a Quarter Pounder with Cheese in a cup. But you can lose all the bad fat and all but 170 calories if you order a tall (12 oz.) with nonfat milk and no whipped cream.

9. Chipotle Chicken Burrito - With rice, pinto beans, cheese, chicken, sour cream, and salsa, you get 1,040 calories and 16-1/2 grams of saturated fat - the same as three Subway Steak and Cheese 6-inch Subs. Plus the burrito comes with 2,500 milligrams of sodium! Ordering it without cheese or sour cream cuts the saturated fat to 3-1/2 grams, but you still end up with 810 calories and 2,300 milligrams of sodium. Ay Caramba! Here's another burrito that will shock you.

10. Cold Stone Creamery's Gotta Have It Founder's Favorite - 12-ounces of ice cream, pecans, brownie pieces, fudge, and caramel adds up to a whopping 1,600 calories and 42 grams of saturated fat. That's about the same as five single-scoop ice cream cones. And watch out before you have this frozen concoction.

Source by FatFighterTV

Whole Grain? Whole Wheat?: The Whole Truth on Bread

7-grain, 12-grain, whole wheat, all-natural multi-grain, whole grain whole wheat... What, what, what? There's too much in the bread aisles to know which one to choose. To help, I've laid out key info on whole wheat versus whole grain breads, and I've compared nutrition labels for some popular products at the market. The choice should be easier to make after understanding which breads really are better for you.

Whole Grain 101

Whole grain products are better for you than refined grains because they use the entire grain kernel, which is where the nutrients are, especially B vitamins, fiber, and iron.

Whole Wheat Bread vs. Whole Grain Bread

Whole wheat is a whole grain, so what is going on?

Why multi-grain whole grain breads can be better than whole wheat breads: Each whole grain has a different strength, so breads that use a variety of whole grains help you take in a greater range of benefits. For instance, flax seeds are rich in lignan, an antioxidant that may protect against breast cancer, while barley helps lower cholesterol. If you consume both of these in one slice of bread you get to enjoy the benefits of both.

Why multi-grain breads aren't always better: First, to be a healthy contender, a bread label that says "multigrains" must also say "100% whole grains" somewhere on the package. Otherwise, the bakery may be throwing a couple whole grains in with a ton of refined grains, which sidesteps almost all the nutritional benefits.

Second, even those legit multi-grain breads often have nearly the same nutritional profile as whole wheat bread because they use mainly wheat with tiny amounts of those other whole grains (even though they may market those other grains in a big way on the package). Most companies do not list the amount of each whole grain they use on their packages. The best clue is how close to the top of the ingredients list the whole grains are. Look for breads that list their whole grains (such as oats, flax seeds, barley, etc.) as a main ingredient, rather than in a sub-list of ingredients that each contribute less than 2% of the makeup of the bread. This is the best we can do for now because when I called many of these companies, they could not or would not give me these statistics.

This information below was gathered by comparing in-store nutritional labels at the time of publishing.

<span style="font-weight: bold; Produce

Piling your plate with fruits and vegetables is a no-brainer when it comes to weight loss - they're low in calories, high in nutrients, and filling - but the latest studies show that certain ones can provide surprising anti-aging benefits.

There's buzz about blueberries, for instance, for their memory-boosting potential. But berries of all hues are antioxidant-rich, reports Navindra P. Seeram, Ph.D., assistant professor at the University of Rhode Island College of Pharmacy in Kingston. That means they combat free radicals, molecules that can cause widespread cell damage and are linked to chronic inflammation. Unlike the inflammation that occurs when you sprain an ankle or strain a muscle, the type that contributes to aging is persistent, and thought to be at the root of most chronic diseases, from cancer, heart disease, and diabetes to Alzheimer's, arthritis, and osteoporosis. Berries' beauty bonus: They're chock-full of vitamin C, another potent antioxidant that may help keep your complexion looking smooth by fighting those pesky (skin-damaging) free radicals.

To keep your vision sharp, set your sights on spinach and other dark leafy greens. These veggies are prime sources of lutein and zeaxanthin, plant pigments that protect your eyes from the harmful effects of ultraviolet light. Leafy greens are also rich in vitamin K, a nutrient that plays a role in reducing bone loss and preventing fractures.

2. Protein (Try these One-Dish Dinners)

This key dietary component becomes even more critical starting in the 40s, when muscle mass begins to decline by up to 1 percent a year. That drop slows metabolism, which makes the pounds pile on more easily. The double whammy consequence: Added weight puts your health at risk, and down the road, diminished muscle mass can throw off your balance (upping chances of a fall), sap your strength, and even threaten your ability to recover from an illness or accident.

To hang on to your metabolism-boosting muscle - and keep you feeling full after meals (another protein plus) - experts recommend eating plenty of skinless chicken and turkey breast, lean beef and pork, eggs, beans, and seafood. And don't forget protein-rich dairy: Minerals (primarily calcium, phosphorus, and potassium) in fat-free milk and yogurt as well as low-fat cheeses help to keep blood pressure healthy, pudge in check, and bones strong. News flash: Calcium can't build bone if you're not getting enough protein, and current recommendations - about five ounces a day for a 145-pound woman - are too low, says Robert P. Heaney, M.D., professor of medicine at Creighton University in Omaha. Our Anti-Aging Meal Plan provides about 11 ounces of protein daily.

Another reason to spoon up some yogurt: Eating at least 1/4 cup every day led to a 60 percent lower risk of gum disease and a 50 percent lower risk of tooth loss in a Japanese study published in the Journal of Periodontology. The effect is thought to be linked to the probiotics in yogurt, but not in most other dairy.

3. Omega-3-Rich Fish

Fatty acids in seafood help quench the flames of chronic inflammation. In addition, "there's very good new data suggesting that omega-3 fats from fish act on an area of the brain that leads to improved mood and attitude among healthy people," says Artemis P. Simopoulos, M.D., author of The Omega Diet. These improvements in outlook lead to feeling healthier and more vigorous, she explains. The omega-3s in fatty fish like salmon and tuna have the most potent anti-inflammatory effects. But it's smart to consume omega-3s from plant sources, like walnuts and flaxseed, too especially if you're not fond of fish.

Source by Samantha B. Do your homework.

If you know you are going to be on the road, then read up online about your favorite fast-food restaurants. Today, most chains will provide nutritional profiles for all of their food options, arming you ahead of time with the best choices from each place, and helping you determine which chains to completely avoid.

2. Remove all the extras.

Avoid cheeses, sour cream, dressings, and spreads. I know it's not quite as exciting, but you will save yourself a lot of calories and fat.

3. Pay attention to how your food is prepared.

The answer may be right in front of you: If you see the words "fried", "breaded", or "creamy" then you know that's not going to work. Some places offer you a choice for how you want your food prepared; if it's available, always go for the broiled or steamed version.

4. Drink water.

You would be amazed how many calories and how much sugar are in sodas. Avoid all sugary drinks, and yes this means diet drinks as well. We drink about 20% of our daily calories, so you can eliminate 1/5 of your calories by simply drinking water. If you get really bored, grab a lemon and throw it in your water or go for an unsweetened tea.

5. No buffets of any kind.

Not seafood, salad, or any other kind of buffet. This is a set up to overeat, and there are way too many options for extras like sauces, dressings, and unlimited sweets.

6. Don't inhale your food.

If you are going to have a meal, then do your best to chew it, smell it, taste it, and enjoy it. You will eat more slowly and digest your food better overall. Plus, I think we have the tendency to eat less if we pay attention to what we are consuming.

7. If you love your buns, then get the bun on the side.

I enjoy bread just like you, but if you ditch the bun you will see how great you feel, and in time, how white flour affects your gut and butt. If you happen to be at the world's most delicious Italian restaurant, where they make their own baguettes, then go for it. If we are talking about a store-bought hamburger bun, then pass.

8. Your food is salty enough.

I am quoting Dr. Oz, but he said the number one harmful risk to your health is high blood pressure. Don't add any more salt to your already salty food.

9. Look into the future.

I mean this on a lot of levels. Continue to think about your long term health and fitness goals, and if you know you have a nutty week coming up that's a little bit more out of your control, then reel it in this week. Get even more disciplined about your eating and fitness regimens since you may not have that same luxury the following week. Help yourself where and when you can.

10. No super anything.

Don't "grande" or "supersize" any of your meals. Overeating is the only result from oversized portions. Control the amount of food you are eating before you have your plate in front of you.

Source by Gabrielle Reece http://health.yahoo.com/experts/gabbyguide/9837/eat-right-on-the-run/

Organically Yours - Five Reasons To Buy Organic Foods

You too can make smarter choices in the food you buy. Organically grown foods have been increasing in popularity as people are choosing to live a smarter and healthier lifestyle. Organic farmers around the world are doing their part in preserving the quality of our ecosystem and to improve our health by growing food the way nature intended. Organically grown food gives us a naturally healthy and purely delicious food that is completely free of harmful chemicals and pesticides. Most foods contain a high level of pesticides that can be more harmful that organically grown foods.

1. The Five Reasons

- Organic foods are free of additives and preservatives and therefore taste more delicious and pure.

- Buying organic foods helps to reduce the dependence on all the non-renewable resources.

- The organic food industry promotes healthy farmland and supports those small family owned farms that produce the organic food.

- Growing organic foods help to keep chemicals out of the water supplies and help protect the farmers and other workers from having contact with harmful chemicals and pesticides.

- Organically grown food is exceedingly safe for children because it is free from harmful pesticides.

2. Consider The Organic Alternative

Next time your shopping for groceries, think about how buying organically grown food can benefit you and your family. Think about choosing a food that was grown as nature intended, compared to one that had frequently been covered with poisonous pesticides and other chemicals. Would you buy food knowing that it had once been saturated with harmful chemicals? At one point in time, that was something you never would have thought about, but now today in the information age, people are more aware of what they are putting into their bodies. Now people are aware of how food is grown and produced and now people have a choice.

3. Organic Foods List

Some great organically grown foods to buy are apples, grapes (imported), nectarines, pears, peaches, red raspberries, strawberries, bell peppers, celery, potatoes and spinach. There are even many other foods coming to market as organic foods such as eggs, cheese, yogurt, ice cream, milk, juice, bread, soup, meat, nuts, pasta and many baby foods.

4. What Does Organic Mean?

Being organic is referring to the way the agricultural products of fiber and food are processed and grown. The ecological system heavily relies on the rich soil to produce plants strong enough to withstand diseases and other pests. Organic farming means that the use of any chemicals and toxins are prohibited and work only in favor of the earth friendly habits that work with nature. In livestock, preventative measures are taken to keep the animals productive and healthy because the use of antibiotics is forbidden. Genetically modified organisms are also strictly prohibited in the organic production.

5. The Three Categories

100% Organic

Means the food item is made purely and 100% of organic ingredients.

Organic Made

Means the food item is made of at least 95% organic ingredients with the remaining 5% heavily restricted and with no genetically modified organisms.

Made With Organic Ingredients

The food you choose can be made with ingredients containing no lesser than 70% of organic ingredients with the remaining 30% heavily restricted and no genetically modified organisms.

6. USDA Standards

The USDA has set strict regulations when labeling organic foods. An organic food must contain at least 95% of organic ingredients in order for it to be labeled as" organic." Any foods that have less than 70% of organic ingredients can not make any claims on the front of the package that it is organic in any way, but may list the specific organically grown ingredients on the side panel.

Price is the main bargaining issue when considering foods. Eating healthier is sometimes more expensive than the chemically treated foods. Of course, as the organic food industry is steadily rising as the varieties and availabilities are increasing, the prices are becoming more competitive and more appealing. Consider the real importance of staying healthy, it shouldn't have to cost a ton either, find a local grower or a good organic place and they will offer a competitive offer.

By Stephen White

Healthy Eating Guidelines - Is Organic Best?

We live in a world that is increasingly dependent on pesticides and chemicals but is that the best way? What is the long term impact of those chemicals on our health and our lifestyle? Is organic better? More and more people have concerns about the ever increasing level of man made chemical compounds in our everyday foods. All the various chemicals that are used on farms have an impact on the food we buy at our local supermarket or grocery store and in the luscious dishes we have when eating out. The constant need to drive prices down and production up puts enormous strains on the growers and farmers but is this the right way to go?

Surface pesticides are one thing - sure enough we scrub our vegetables well - but that doesn't have any effect on the chemicals within the food. Organic foods are an alternative, or even growing your own. Whilst that might not be organic in the strictest sense of the word at least you know what you are eating and you have been able to make informed choices about what garden chemicals you use.

Detoxing is one of the current trends - why do we need to detox, it never used to be thought necessary for our health whereas now we take it for granted that it is something we should do regularly to cleanse our bodies of all the chemicals we take on board as part of our daily lives. Eating organic foods ought to reduce the need for detoxing which is never a very pleasant experience. Research is also ongoing which suggests that organically grown food has a higher nutrient value than that which is subject to fertilisers and pesticides.

So what exactly is organic? For food to be classed as organic, it should be grown free of many chemicals by way of pesticides, chemical fertilizers or the hormones that are used on animals to encourage rapid growth. Equally the plants and animals should be free of any form of genetic engineering. Organic growers and farmers have to undergo a lengthy certification procedure, over several years to ensure all their produce complies with the regulations. It is an expensive process, as is the maintenance of the registration.

Whilst preparing for certification famers cannot sell their produce as organic and are subject to stringent conditions which can often cause considerable financial hardship. This results in the premiums we often pay for organic foods - but it is well worth it for the improvement in flavor and quality in my opinion. Most people who eat an organic diet as far as possible feel that they have better health, more energy and suffer from less long term illnesses. Research is underway looking at the long term benefits of an organic diet.

Most food shops and supermarkets now sell organic produce, the large supermarket chains are bowing to customer pressure and stocking an ever increasing range. This increasing market has helped to bring prices down. More and more farms are opening their own shops, selling their produce direct to the consumer and this generally provides both the best prices and the freshest food. The distance some supermarket foods travel is truly astonishing - it does neither the food, nor our environment any good.

Sometimes it is impossible to get organic foods or they are beyond your budget, in that case, buy the best that you can. A little of something good is far better than a lot of something bad! Make sure you thoroughly wash any fruit and vegetables, a good vegetable brush is inexpensive and will make sure you get rid of all the surface residue. Even if you are buying organic foods you should make sure you wash everything under running water. As a word to the wise, don't forget to wash fruits that you peel, chemicals and germs can easily be transferred from the skin to your hands and into your mouth!

By Annie Horthorne

Health And Other Benefits Of Natural Organic Foods

It's not everyday that a person has the chance to change the way that they eat. You might try to do so, become healthier and eat healthier but in a great many ways you will be thwarted in this desire. This is why the benefits of organic food can have a far reaching effect on you, more so than you might have thought.

Why do I say this? Because even though you might try to become healthy and change your way of living, it is extremely difficult to do so in many circumstances. With the advent of more and more organic foods onto the scene however, it becomes easier to hold to your desire to live a healthier lifestyle. Why? For the simple reason that your healthy eating habits become even healthier when they come in the guise of organic foods.

As you can see, the benefits of organic foods are many and you need only to scratch the surface to start finding them. As you dig deeper you will find there are more and more benefits of organic foods, some of which you might not even have thought about.

So what are the benefits of organic foods? Well, to begin with, organic foods are produced in such a way that there are no chemicals in the growing process or in the case of animals, the rearing process.

No chemicals are introduced into the mix and only natural fertilizers, pesticides, or herbicides are used. In the case of farm animals, only organic feed is given to them, so you can be assured that when you get organic meats or milks and things that the animals too are reared according to organic standards.

There are also other benefits to organic food which includes the exclusion of genetically modified organisms (GMO). GMO's to put it succinctly are foods which have had their genetic structure modified in some way or other.

While this might seem to yield many benefits in the field of agriculture by providing farmers with larger amounts of useable crops, no one still fully knows what the disadvantages are of modifying the genetic structure of living organisms. You need to look no further to find further such glaring deficits that science only found out about years after their regular and widespread usage, than to look at Lead and how bad we consider that to be.

To that extent, the benefits of organic food far outweigh the dubious goodness of non-organic foods, at least until the jury comes back in on that question. The only problem is the high cost of organic foods - the medical costs that you might incur upon seeing your monthly food bill after going organic might put you off the many benefits of organic food until such time as they become less expensive!

By Shabi http://www.isnare.com/?aid=181607&ca=Food+and+Drinks

Why You Should Use Them and How to Find Them

Are you interested in eating organic foods? Dry brittle hair is a symptom of poor hair health. Excessive oil is also a symptom of poor hair health.

Hair needs good oils, monounsaturated fats and polyunsaturated fats. These are the good fats that help keep the LDL cholesterol down and are heart friendly as well as healthy for your hair such as; almonds, walnuts, pecans, hazelnuts, peanuts, pistachios, and good oils such as olive oil, flaxseed oil or hemp oil. Flaxseed oil is high in omega 3 but even better is hemp oil that has the correct balance of omega-3 and omega-6, which is very important for healthy hair.

Studies done about Japan pre World War II showed that Japanese men maintained a full head of hair and that it was not until the western diet where saturated fatty foods were introduced that there was a rise in baldness.

Healthy hair also needs B-vitamins. These vitamins assist in making red blood cells which carry oxygen to all the cells and this is important for hair health. Foods that contain B-vitamins are; whole grains such as wheat, oats, quinoa, wheat germ and brewers yeast, also chicken, turkey, sea foods, dairy products, eggs, leafy green vegetables and a variety of beans.

The importance of minerals is often under estimated. A lack of minerals such as iron, calcium, magnesium, copper, zinc and silica can contribute to hair thinning. Some mineral rich foods are dark leafy greens, sprouts, sea weed, fruits and vegetables.

Vegetables that are high in these minerals are:

Squash

Sweet potato and regular potatoes

Lima beans

Peas

Spinach

Kale

Avocados

Cucumbers

Broccoli

Peas

Fruits high in these minerals:

Kiwis

Blueberries

Citrus fruits

Black berries

Bananas

Strawberries

Tomatoes

Nuts high in these minerals:

Pecans

Brazil nuts

Pine nuts

Pumpkin seeds

Walnuts

Sun flower seeds

Vitamin C is also and important vitamin for hair health and absorption of minerals such as iron. Fruit, especially citrus fruits are high in this vitamin.

Hair is mostly made up of protein and a protein rich diet of sea foods, poultry, eggs and nuts helps to keep hair lustrous. If you are going to eat red meat, choose very lean cuts.

If you stick to eating a common sense diet of fresh fruits, vegetables, meats and nuts you should do well overall. Processed foods should not your first choice for food. Most of these foods contain preservatives, pesticides and MSG which are not necessarily the best choice if you are trying to resolve your hair issue.

Organic foods not only taste better but have a higher nutrient content which is what you want if you are trying to improve the condition of your hair. If you are entertaining the idea of a hair transplant, changing your diet before hand, during and after can enhance the overall experience. The same goes for topical treatments.

Good luck!

By Willie http://www.joneshaircare.com

2. Consider The Organic Alternitive

Next time youre shopping for groceries, think about how buying organically grown food can benefit you and your family.

An organic food must contain at least 95% of organic ingredients in order for it to be labeled as 'organic.' Any foods that have less than 70% of organic ingredients can not make any claims on the front of the package that it is organic in any way, but may list the specific organically grown ingredients on the side panel.

By Stephen White http://www.isnare.com/?aid=93963&ca=Wellness%2C+Fitness+and+Diet

Where To Buy Organic Food Gift Baskets

Are you looking for that perfect gift for a close friend or relative? If you are, you will want to examine natural, organic foods. After a close examination, you will see that there are a number of benefits to eating organic.

As previously stated, there are a number of benefits to eating organic foods. One of those benefits is your ability to shop at a wide range of locations. Organic foods are available for sale at supermarkets, organic food stores, and online. With that said, organic foods are also commonly sold directly by the farmers who grew them. If you have local farmers who sell organic foods, you should consider doing your shopping directly through them.

When it comes to buying many organic food products, such as fruits and vegetables, directly from organic farmers, many individuals wonder why they should do so. In all honesty, there are a number of reasons, as well as benefits to buying organic foods directly from the source. One of those benefits is the assistance that you will be providing to local farmers. It is no secret that many farmers find it difficult to stay afloat financially. In fact, hundreds of small farms shut down each year. Instead of shutting down, many farmers are now making the switch to organic foods.

As previously stated, a large number of farmers, all across the United States, are now making the decision to go organic. Unfortunately, this decision isn't always easy. It can be costly in the beginning, as well as very risky. Although you may not necessarily think about it at the time, you can provide financial relief and assistance to organic farmers by buying their products directly from them. When you buy organic fruits and vegetables directly from the farmer or farmers who made them, they are able to receive all profits, not just a portion of them. In this aspect, you can consider buying organic fruits and vegetables directly from farmers your good deed for the week or month.

Read more Why You Should Buy Directly From Farmers

The Organic and Healthy Food Market

Recent research by market analysts nVision suggests four in ten adults now choose organic options on a regular basis. Organic supermarkets in England are booming and Europes biggest organic event, the Biofach exhibition in Germany in getting bigger every year.

Unfortunately, at the moment retailers are charging artificially high prices. I was in Tesco last week which is a rare occurrence as I shop locally where possible, and I nearly died when I saw the prices being charged for organic yogurt and eggs compared to the non-organic brands. Its about time that the government started to investigate these organic suppliers and supermarkets to see who is ripping us off! Encouraging competition is not always a good idea as this can drives down prices (good for the consumer) which can put organic suppliers out of business if they have small profit margins. I understand that we have to pay more for organic produce because there are more crop failures due to the fact that the farmers cannot use pesticides, but what is an acceptable percentage and does this vary from product to product. Should organic fish be 10 percent more expensive than non organic fish and vegetables 20 per cent etc?

Once only available in small health shops or farmers markets, organic foods are becoming much more widely available. In the past 10 years sales of organic food in the UK have increased over 10-fold from £100m in 1993/94 to nearly £1.4bn in 2004/05. This large growth is predicted to continue, and many companies are jumping into the market. Sales through farmers markets and farm shops have grown faster than any other retail outlet. Organic food and drink now accounts for 1.2 per cent of the total retail market (Source Soil Association).

There are two types of organic foods.

Fresh food

Fresh food is seasonal and perishable. Vegetables and fruits are the most available type of organic, fresh food, and are closely associated with organic farming. They are often purchased directly from growers, at farmers markets, supermarkets or through speciality food stores. Organic meat, eggs, dairy are also available.

Processed food

Processed food accounts for most of the items in a supermarket. Often, within the same store, both organic and conventional versions of products are available, and the price of the organic version is usually higher as already mentioned. Most processed organic food comes from larger companies producing and marketing products like organic baby food, organic beer, organic pasta or other convenience foods. How do I know its organic?

The term organic is defined by law - all organic food production and processing is governed by a strict set of rules. Look for symbols such as the Soil Association symbol for your guarantee of the highest organic standards. The Soil Association organic symbol is the UK's largest and most recognisable trademark for organic produce. Wherever you see it you can be sure that the food you have purchased has been produced and processed to strict and rigorous animal welfare and environmental standards. Other symbols to look out for include the Organic Food Federation and Certified Organic Ingredients.

Most people dont have enough time to read the labels of all the different food products that they buy to check for organic ingredients. So look for the various symbols, you can then be sure that the product complies with minimum government standards.

The use of such symbols is entirely optional and a product can still be organic even though if it doesnt carry the symbol of a certifying body. That means if you want to be 100% satisfied that what you are eating or using is organic always read the label or speak to the vendor.

Where you will find the symbol? - Look out for organic symbols on almost any kind of food and drink you can think of from fresh produce like fruit, vegetables and meat to processed foods such as bread or baby food. You can even buy organic pet food!

Autor: greendave

Lot For Sale at P3,000 in Imus, Cavite

Location: Gardenville Subdivision
Carsadang Bago, Brgy.
